INTRODUCING NIMT
The Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology works hard to provide a high level of quality accredited vocational education in training.
The Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology is a technical vocational training institute that build and shapes the future artisans of Namibia and the world at large. The NIMT offers courses in mining, manufacturing and engineering. The NIMT started of with one campus in Arandis and has expanded to four campuses all over Namibia. The main goal of this institution s to provide the industry with quality artisans to build the future of our country.
Interesting facts:
The NIMT was Started by Mr. E.D.G Mueller in 1991
In 2000 the second campus was opened in Arandis, called the Building Trades Campus.
In the year 2007 De Beers donated NIMT with fund to open a third campus in Tsumeb (NNC).
In 2009 the fourth campus was opened in Keetmanshoop.
All our campuses are guarded by dogs.
Upon a visit to any of our campuses you will be greeted by various types of bids wandering around.
We are surrounded by nature and a sense of peace and quiet.
In 2017 the NIMT had 4000 students and 270 staff members.
NIMT produces between 300 to 500 graduates a year who go on to be employed in the mining industry of Namibia.
The NIMT has been in existence for 32 years.
