TRADES OFFERED AT NIMT

WHAT WE OFFER:

At NIMT we work hard to provide a variety of trades to study and to provide broad knowledge of different vocational fields.

The objective of the Institute is to equip Namibians with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to take up positions as artisans within the mining, engineering, building and civil industries.

WE OFFER BOTH FULLTIME AND SPECIAL TRAINING COURSES AT NIMT. FULL-TIME IS A 4 YEAR PROGRAM AND SPECIAL TRAINING IS A SIX MONTH PROGRAM. MORE INFORMATION OF BOTH FULL-TIME AND SPECIAL TRAINING IS AVAILABLE IN THE INFORMATION BROCHURE.

NIMT OFFERS SKILLS UPGRADING IN VARIOUS FIELDS.

Skills Upgrading Trainee: Candidate must be registered by his/her employer. This is not a private traineeship.

Trainee has to undergo an evaluation test with NIMT to establish trainability/recognition of prior learning.
Trainee must be English literate.
Minimum of three years uninterrupted job experience. (Copy of “Service Record” is a prerequisite and therefore must be handed to the Registrar when the trainee registers for the evaluation test).
Minimum Grade 6.
Must be employed to enable the trainee to complete the prescribed tasks before entering for the next Level.
The employer has to pay for this training possibility. NIMT will send the account to the employer.
